yeah!!!!!!!!!,,,you guys should hear this thing,,, AWSOME!!!!!!!! sounds more like a super sprint speedway car than a mini :-)

I`ll try to get some footage of it soon, we`re setting up an exhaust system for it now & then we`ll take her to the Qld Mini Muster

Stew doesn`t want to race it, a bit scared of the beast me thinks :-)

How do you get 1600cc? Is it 1380 bore, the rest stroke?

Don't worry about waiting for the exhaust Matt, put it on your site as is.
Shame we can't all make it to the muster :(
but put up some pics after - don't leave us in suspense with your big secret!

Be great to see an update on your site!

Mike

hee hee...yeah, it`s actually about 1591cc ,,,so basically a 1600cc ,,,& it`s a 74.7mm bore (forged Arias pistons) with huge forged stroker crank , YUMMY TELL YOUR MUMMY

& F`ken WOW!!! ,,,it sounds like a speedway sprint car, crisp & clean & hard core, totally wicked,,,the new exhaust has knocked the yukky bark out of it & it`s just sooooo nice now :-)

we`ve run into a problem with the clutch now, seems KG Engineering may not have made enough primary gear bush clearance & it looks like it may have grabbed up on the crank,,,will be ripping all that out today for a gork/gander/look see...

& yeah, sorry guys,,,i have actually organised my phone number to finally be put up on the front page, after years of people e-mailing telling me that there was no contact number, so that`s an update isn`t it??? :-)

I wish knew how to do all that computer/web site sh!t, i`d be playing with the site everyday,,,but then, maybe it`s a good thing that i don`t know diddly about all that cause i`d get even less mini work done :-)

So is this the old K&G engineering 1600 that Steve Evans used to run in his sports sedan

no,,,it`s a totally different/new engine,,,never seen a start up , totally brand new in every dept & hadn`t turned over till we ran her up here.

a friend of ours (Ken) had organised Daryll from KG to set it all up for him quite a few years ago when we ran the Surfers Paradise Race car club championships with it`s sister 6speed dog box in my green cooper S back in 1999,,,then he didn`t actually finish building this engine so ended up being sold it to Stew & we have it all up & running now

it will be at the Qld mini Muster, we`ve just sorted the clutch dramas(amongst big chunks of other crappy problems we found along the way) & is going back together as i type,,,stew is frantically bolting things back on right now
