single Brown wire connects to the battery side of the starter switch and is part of the main loom. Goes directly to A terminal of the regulator via the grommet in the firewall. It is likely that the wire clip you asked about will secure this wire.
The brown wire would have had black spaghetti sleeving to help protect it under the car.
