Big thankyou to Cody From "Minis on the Coast" who fixed me up with a replacement generator and let me swap it over at his place. Got home with no dramas with a nice healthy 13 - 14 volts in the system. Thanks to everyone else too for your offers of help.

To do the Job properly you will also need to test the Armature on A "Growler" and also check the condition of the Field Coils's cotton tape. If Brushes are completely worn you will also find that the Commutator with need to be re skimmed and undercut. If the Commutator end Bush is worn you will probably also find that the armature core has been rubbing on the Pole shoes which causes a lot of heat, wear and most time armature winding shorts to earth making Armature a throw away item or get a new one or it rewound. (If you want it to last) Also Voltage regulator will need to be check for correct settings.

Good to read that people are still doing re-winds in this throw-away world we live in :!:
