Hi to all the mini people out there.
I have a mk3 english mini with years of time and money poured into it and looks like it will send me broke before I'm happy with it.

Oh my god!!! I haven't done this thread yet!!! Oh well, here it goes...

Wassup, i'm Nathan from Adelaide, i'm 25 years old, 6 foot 1. Most people here have read my posts, but not one as long as this

People say i'm strange because, as much as i like to drool over girls, i'd much rather drool over a mini. I love everything that has to do with classic minis - be it racing 'em, showing 'em, seeing 'em, whatever... My preference is round front minis, but a well modified clubby gets my respect too ( standard clubby's just dont cut it for me ).

However, my current daily driver is a Mazda Metro (ex- auto salon competitor and trophy winner) that i am getting ready to sell, and replace it with a PIMPED-OUT 1996 BLACK V8 Holden Statesman Caprice, so i can tow my beloved minis to events across the country... and save the mini's mileage

My obsession started when i was 12ish, after seeing the original Italian Job on TV. From then, i studied any books and manuals i could to learn about the car, but my first car was actually a corolla  ........ good for crashing practice at least....

I bought my first mini for $1500(CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS) in 1997 when i was 18, it was a '63 mini 850, very original, and a perfect interior....... i cut and drilled and painted parts non stop, and spent $6000 in total, then sold it for $6000 a year later...

I replaced it with a supercharged and HIGHLY tuned AW11 Toyota MR2. Bloody FAST, and BLOODY expensive to keep running. But thats where my Supercharger attraction began... Spent over $20,000 on running costs alone in the year i owned it, which is why i sold it. Enter the Mazda Metro. This car is cheap to run, and reliable, but i needed a project.... and then found a mini....

My second mini was a Yellow 1968 Mini K (CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS) which cost me $500 in 2002. I had planned to go crazy on this one, dropping a rear wheel drive 13B turbo rotary engine, 5 speed gearbox, mazda E300 diff and axle, wide fibreglass panels, perspex windows.... hoping to get it to the 300HP mark and 450Kg..... just an all out crazy and illegal car. But when i started ripping it to bits, the shell showed up some BAD stuctural damage, SO bad that i ended up selling it to a metal scrapyard.... the car got crushed, and my plans for rear wheel drive went into the cupboard...for now

My third mini is my custom 1963 Mini Roadster (CLICK HERE FOR FULL DETAILS). It cost me a whole $100 for the shell. I bought it in 2002, 2 days after selling the yellow one. I'm going for a very smooth look with this one - having no handles, no bumpers, no number plate recess, no locks, no roof... 8) I dont want to think about how much its costing me....

My FOURTH mini is my Supercharged 1963 Morris 850 (CLICK HERE). I bought it also in 2002 for $200. I'm doing EVERYTHING myself. Enough said.

My FIFTH mini was a 1964 Morris Van which i owned for a week (early in 2004) before i realised i dont have the time or space for it.... .... so i sold it. I'll get another when the time is right.

Just recently i was given a good UC Torana with a stuffed 4 cylinder motor in it. And guess what..... its currently getting a Toyota Soarer Twin Turbo V6 and 5 speed bolted into it, getting the interior stripped out and roll caged, suspension and body modified.... so it can compete in DRIFTING competitions. Here in Adelaide we have many drifting events held that are increasing in popularity, so i figured 'why not give it a go??' (you don't need a CAMS licence  )

SO for now i've only got 2 minis in my posession, but i'm sure that number will increase as i get older. I'm obsessed with having uniquely modified cars, its impossible for me to have one that i wont touch, believe me - i've tried. The Metro was meant to be my unmodified car.... oops!! Now, if only i could work out how to modify chicks......

Sorry for the LIFE STORY guys, but maybe people can understand me a little better from it...
Give your mini a hug from me...
Peace

I've been a bad boy. I didn't get to this point either.

I'm Craig. Have had 6 minis before my current one. I currently live in eastern Melbourne, but moving to western Melbourne in October as the girl and I have decided that our relationship has reached that level, so it's time to move in together.. officially. She pretty well much lives here in Glen Waverley but drives from Melton every day.

I work in a bank dealing with home loans and spend most of my time dreaming of working on and completing the mini, Charlie, buying a house and then a farm, thus, this mini won't be done as quick as the last couple. Being a single bloke with no other cares in the world besides the rent means more money gets spent on the car. Now it's all going to the house deposit. So, once I move, I'll be hunting up a second job for the mini money.

Anyway, that's me and a little about my life. I'll be joining the Vic Mini Club before too long. Am thinking about buying a running mini as a daily driver. Or another ute to haul mini bits around in :D

Cheers

Craig
