Those newton carpets look top.
I would like to get a set of those.
The price looks ok but there in the UK
Does anyone supply them here by any chance?
I could get them when im over there in sept but may be a bit hard luggage wise.
Any help?

They roll up to a pretty small size, about 25cm tube about 1 meter long. Might only take a small portion of a suitcase.

BTW: UNIT :get in contact with CHOPCHOP if you need a copy of those patterns for the carpet, he's making a set himself and grabbed them off me the other day. I think he may be making them into a more durable vinyl copy.

:?
Interiors for OZ built cars were sourced locally and what was installed in English built cars is not relevant for OZ built cars. Upholstery, trim carpets are all different. 997 Coopers had a cut pile flecked type of carpet, not westminster.
Can't remenber what carpet colours were available on Grey/White cars.

Hope this helps

THanks Mick,
Its a good idea to get a pattern so cheers.
but i do like the idea of just buying a set (lazy).
So i would guess that the english set should fit the same?.
So steve can i ask did you just get them sent from O/S?

I logged into the Newton page and they havnt got back to me yet on price for postage/shipping.

I have a mate in Uk so he is going to check it out and it may be easier for him to purchase and post over/air freight.

Have seen a similar set of carpets on ebay at $200, only black though??

Nothing is really wrong with the carpet and interior its just not quite what should be in there. I'm a bit of a purist with my cars and have been lucky enought to get good minis to start with so I like them very original. I do also like modified minis just haven't built one yet

Sorry but the interior will be going into my woody untill its time for it to be restored.

Miniron is correct, Aussie 997's had a fleck carpet, there is a picture in Mini Minor downunder (Pedr Davis) It's a B&W pic though, so not a lot of help.
The original carpet is long gone, people have searched for something similar, but I have not seen or heard of anything like it.
Newton do some good gear, just use theirs! 8)
