Um... Imps, Renaults etc got by with a rear radiator... they did have some holes at the back though. On the Imp, this was where the air came IN! Very strange...

I've seen it done with vents under the car scooping the air in, and vents in the bootlid to let it out, could also mount it horizontally in the rear subframe with adequate protection from underneath. Dunno what they'd do about keeping dust out though.... lots more would get to it there than for a front mount

That's probably why on the Imp, the air from the rad is directed forward, downwards and out the bottom.
Things back there sure got dusty in rallies though.

the other starlet mini had a large thermo fan sitting ontop of the rad, with vent holes in the parcel shelf,

with that much water in the cooling system, it would stay rather cool anyway!,

radiator in boot would be atleast double than the stocko!

blake

side scoops like on most mid engined cars, then vents on the boot so it can exit

More water is great for cooling... but is it needed that badly??

dont lose sight of the fact that for every litre of water....... its one more Kg of weight, not to mention the weight and inconvenience of the pipeing.

another thing to consider is the inconvenience of it all, and the maintnance factor.

thats my 2cents worth

cheers

i reckon brad's cooler is the right size, the front mount cooler looks like it's been stolen off a blown chrysler centurion..

the interior looks alright, wouldn't mind a few more pics

i have a mid-mounted car. and my radiators STILL at the front.
can anyone say 12L cooling system for a 1600 :o

yeah but you'll still need side scoops for air intake and such
