I assume you're using the term experience as a euphemism for terror?

I of actually like to put a 1275 auto in it... we have a running engine & a few dodgey transmissions but I'm curious to know if they modified the later models to make them more reliable. Old mate reckons they need more plates in the forward clutch or something...

The original engine has done 50 000mi with one trans repair so far.

Original forward clutch plates were glorified paper, replacement ones are Kevlar.
These boxes need very regular oil and filter changes if you want reliability.
3000 miles max.
Personally I would do oil changes at 1500. Before it goes black...
