I don't know if you are getting feedback from buyers but the lack of flares is something that is unusual for the MK2 S. I have only seen 2 others without flares. Car 1545 and 2036 and both were restored cars.

It did have flares but the previous owner has ground them off. The spot welds are still there.

Back seat fuel breather. Hard to see because of the glue used to fix carpet. It's the blob top centre.

Is it possible that there is an 'M' after the number?

No M. It will be something like YG2S 4 670 looking from the outside over the guard.

Say he, who has a shed full of Cooper S's and as many parts as possible.

Yes I do like mini’s Richard, in actual fact I don’t discriminate I like a good 850 as much as a Cooper S.
It may sound contrite but the value is really not the issue for me. I have no intention of selling anything they will probably be worth nothing when I die and my daughter has to offload them.
One of my best memories is racing an Nb Mini; an 850 shell with all the s bits at Bathurst in 2002
I remind myself every day of the joy it gave me as the photo is on the wall at work.
Memories like that don’t come from gutter stamps. I do however appreciate that these things are important when restoring a car.

If you don't get a better offer, I have a cardboard template for the bracket. I copied it from an S to mount a Mk1 heater in the Mini K.
