Rollmaster make duplex timing gear sets for line bored blocks that negate the need for A+ tensioner set-up. Have +0.002" and +0.005" new sets available.
Hi Steve,
Long story.
This particular S block was buggered up by the car owner (aeronautical engineer) who tried to line bored it himself. Wasn't even straight when he finished.
A mate bought the bent car as a project.
The crank was 0.015" higher up in the block.
Graham Russell got Stan Sainty to hone it, and I then decked the bottom of the block 15 thou to restore mesh with the idler gear. All because it was a mk2 S block. If it was an 1100S we would have binned it.
I know the crank oil seals are out of line now but it works and doesn't leak.
Just a road car.
