If it's standard equipment for a Mini to have no rear seatbelts in 1972, then it is perfectly legal.

i have 2 72 clubbies and both have rear belts.

Look in the boot to see if you have the holes in the parcel tray for the bolts. If so then go grab some belts from a wreck or new ones from a mini spares place.

Your clubby should have belts in the rear, i'd buy them new, they're not worth THAT much. They are not that hard to replace either..

As for fuel economy, I get about ~250km's from a single tank on a fairly modified 1152cc...

ITs illegal to buy(well for the seller to sell) and its illegal to install second hand belts. They have to be new.

I was told rear belts (lap) were mandatory fitment (in NSW anyhow) from January, 1971. My 3/70 car doesn't have them.
So I improve performance by not carrying people in the back...

Technically, it's illegal. Pick 'n Payless said as much when we asked.

26L usually, though you can get 32L ones or something like that.
