ausdino's bar is the same as the one I had in the 80's

It was on my Cooper S in the late 70’s. Won’t put it on this time.

The one I have is very, very similar to the one Ausdino has

I'm hoping to get around to fitting it later this year to use with a bike rack.

I quite like that it only needs two holes in the shell, all the rest are in the subframe

same style as the one I cut up in to make my own - I couldn't put that design on my car - every time the car or trailer goes over a bump it'll flex the boot floor, the part that bolts to the subframe is underneath it, so it's only the bolts in shear that are holding it together to the car - the C section at the back of a rear subframe can't do that without at least a heavy plate inside it. I'd guess that most were just fitted with a panel washer, I've seen plenty of bent rear subframes

I made mine in 3 pieces, the forward section sat above the exhaust (with a cutout for hydro pipes) that bolted down to the subframe (near the brake lines), the centre section bolted to that and sat inside the rear C section, with a long plate bolted through the vertical part, then the tongue was removable... it is a bit heavy though
