Hi. Just wanting some information regarding the window washer bottle for the Australian Clubman GT.

The bottle I have is a white square bottle - very much the same looking as the black square washer bottle.
The white bottle has a pump fitted at the bottom which fits into a moulded fitting - the pump has Lucas Australia on it which would appear to be correct. The white washer bottle I have is past it use and is too brittle.

The black washer bottle that I have seen appears to have a different fitting arrangement for the pump?

The Australian clubman parts manual that I have doesn't show that type of washer bottle but list's part numbers.

Would anybody be able to shed some light on this subject and point me in the right direction. Was the white washer bottle correct for the GT or is It a replacement part? Was the black washer bottle correct for the GT from the factory and what type of pump did it have.

Any help would be much appreciated - thanks.

These are the 2 styles of bottles they used. Your car would have the later style on the right.

Lots of repro washer bottles were white and thinner plastic to save money.

Hi gtogreen1969

Thank you for the excellent photo's and and information which will help me out heaps.

The washer bottle on the left in your photo/centre mounted pump is the same as my white washer bottle.Yes it must of been an after market one - as it is brittle and broken. I believe the build date for my GT is 12/72.

The washer bottle on the right of your photo is like the one I have seen - pump mounted a different way and a smaller size pump.

I will work on getting the later bottle and pump for the replacement.

Many many thanks for your help.

Kind Regards.

As said above the one on the right is correct for circa 1972. They do however tend to leak where the pump enters the bottle as the rubber grommet has to be the exact right dimensio s for both the bottle and the pump. I gave up replacing the grommet and made my own bottle / pump arrangement from a 500ml garden spray bottle.
