My passenger side windows are rather difficult to wind down on my 1969 Mini K.

I thought at first it could have been the door frame being a little out of whack, but after tweaking it the door frame with a large bit of wood - its still very difficult to get wind down.

Interestingly, widing up isnt too bad (guessing the spring helps).

Any ideas on what I should be checking??

Spray the runners with silicone spray.

It may be that the regulator is clogged with old hardening grease or it may be the runners.
Silicone spray does not always help, one of my drivers side was difficult and silicone spray made it a bit worse but when I wiped all the silicone off it actually improved.

Did you replace the bailey channels? That seemed to make my last one very difficult. I didn't notice it being difficult until after they were replaced.

Too many minis

Ok, so I'm going to so say I think its a combo of all 3.

I did replace the bailey channels on the quarter light frame (around 1.5 years ago) , and thats when I first noticed the difficulty winding the passenger window. I had left it because I'm the driver and main priority was sealing the car from water.

I sprayed the bailey channels with silicone spray, not sure that did a lot but possibly helped.

The main thing was to remove the whole regulator assembly and spray degreaser and clean through the gear / winding mechanism.

Its still not 100% but better than before.

Quarter light on the other hand is a decorative feature.. I think I might have inadvertently bent the hinge - the glass fowls the window frame without a bit of force. (oh well - at least passengers now have fresh air via the window)

Graphite powder works better than silicone spray, and doesn't attract and hold dust.

Yep graphite powder was what we used back in the day.

Just a thought: when replacing the quarter light frame back into the door (with new bailey channel), has it been fitted a bit to one side, pinching the window glass a bit?
Maybe loosen the 2 big hex-headed self-tappers (and also the 3 small self-tappers holding the top of the quarter-light frame) to see if you can get a bit of free play for the glass.
