Used to have a set but they were always breaking down. Got a set from the Mrs for Christmas so I put them in and whammo. Found out that the air compressor must be mounted vertically coz thats why the old ones were no good - wore out the non replacable bushes

Cheers

They do like a drop of oil occasionally too. Lubricates the vanes. My old Fiamm compressor had a little oil hole on top for the purpose of.

I just fitted twin electric horns to my wife's 850 - loud enough to make people look for the Mercedes behind them. They have a nice harmonious sound.

But for my Clubman, I have these:
Image

These are crazy loud at 40psi (i.e. painful), not too bad at 25psi. NOTHING like the normal air horns. And they will only fit the Clubman, and I have to have the tank in the boot, but it takes up no more space than a 2nd petrol tank. I'd have to run two horns, for when I just want to toot at someone I recognise, but these babies are for those SUVs that wander onto your side or the road. In particular, there's one b*tch in a Cayenne who drives like a real tw*t...

In NZ they have these auctions of imported Chinese tools and car bits. I bought two sets of those horns @ NZ$20, and had to buy the air tank on Trade Me for NZ$45. You just charge the air tank with your compressor or at the garage, and that's it. It needs a regulator though, as I said at 40psi it is painful, even a 1/3 second toot  but at 25psi it's still way louder than the horns you get in Supercreep. Plus you don't need to wire in a compressor. The electrical air switch is the small thing between the horns.
