So now the question is which one is acurate?

Dr Mini: do you consider + - 4% accuracy good or not as this is what mines says it is calibratedto on its certificated. also do you mean Kinchrome or Kingchrome, i was under the opinion that Kinchrome was a cheap take off of KC (kingchrome)?

I think +- 4% is reasonable, it's not in a NATA lab..

But...
I would trust the dial and pointer on my old one, before these spring/click thingys.

My clicky one says `Kincrome'.. it's in a BLUE box.

I've had a Warren and Brown since the late 60's....only thing I dislike about using it is having to remember the reset after each torqueing.....can be a little dangerous as far as overtorquing is concerned when you are expecting to hear the spring let go

Yep but unlike most of the current crop, they are a quality product. 8)

Provided the pointer is on zero at the start and doesn't rub on the scale, they read OK.
If your `pointer is bent' take it out and straighten it,.. har har har...

My Father showed me how to test my torque wrench and I've since been looking for a good wrench.

Placed the wrench in the side of a vice, set it to 44ftLb, hung a 20lt drum filled with water 20lt measured off it at 1 foot.
I got a reading of 40ft/lb considering the drum weighed extra

anyone want to buy a torque wrench?

On a side note the Riverina Sub Branch of the NSWMCC purchased a torque wrench for use by its members. Thought this was a great idea! Going to try to persuade them to buy some other specialty tools ie, cone compressor and windscreen fitting tool ;)
