Do you need to remove the exhast manifold to remove the cylinder head?

Depends on what "your friend" meant by "remove"....

Remove as in UNBOLT from the head..... yes

Remove as in remove from the car... no... but.... you can if you need to - just undo the manifold clamp and leave it bolted to the head.. oops, I mean, HE can if HE needs to :wink:

Technically I am crap with trying to explain how to fix and/or remove things from engines. If I am actually there working on the car, then I can do it all no dramas.

Oh yeah and I posted the question my friend wanted to ask and they were happy with the response of no :)
