I dunno, I reckon that with a Cooper S you have a responsibility to preserve it fairly original and definitely pink and red and blue in an S (if its an original S) are not my schooner of new. Same for the fake e-bay braiding with the pink plastic nuts and the vacume advance dizzy painted in blue. And he's missing his brake booster, unless its under the dash ralley style.

But that's bitching and my private opinion, the car looks tip top and good on him. Though again he wont find any serious buyers on ebay.

BTW that expansion tank for the radiator sitting by the right wing - does anyone know what the original ones looked like?

Looks like a Toyota? washer bottle to me- not an expansion tank. Check its cap...
I got one similar, hidden in the LH wheel arch..
At least they have a proper pump, not that *&^$$ plunger thing.

I cant really see the tank's cap clearly but the radiator has no hose attached to the top so you're right as usual.

Minis never got them here, Morris 1100 did. Not sure about Mokes, maybe...

Nope, Cooper S never got them. My MK1-1/2 didn't, my mate's real late MK2 doesn't have one either.
I don't think they helped a real lot- Morris 1100s used to boil, too... :P

ok kiddies this is actully a mk 3 cooper s only 200 built for the police but with the hogt phase 3 and the big monaro toranas and such they decided the mini would not be quick enuff so the order was cancelled and given to the public last one i seen sold 2 or 3 years ago for 25000 yes these are extreamly rare they were much different to the others clubby style doors
and the re are other things but the brain just dont work at the moment doogie prolly could go into it much more

Is it just me or does $25,000 for a late Cooper S seem an awful lot?

To me the late Cooper S are too hard to tell from a Mini K and not very exciting.

For $25,000 I'd want an early sliding window English 1071 Cooper S! Tartan Red with Black Or Almond Green with White of course.

How do you know its not a Cooper S body and someone couldn't be arsed to fix the original doors or wanted the "modern" look back in the 70/80's?

It's a lot of work to swap these doors- B pillars are different. Last Cooper S & Mini K had Clubbie pillars...
