could be another factor not mentione dhere. Minis generally tend to leak a lot of oil, and if you're driving through it on your driveway, it can get on your tyres and give you less grip.

i bought a set of Yokos last year for $100/tyre. they don't last as long as the bridgestones, but so far they've felt better to me. i didn't like the Falkens at all.

I once spun out at Wakefield Pk coming onto the straight, I spun in my own oil...
I run Yokos on Ha-Ha and Bridgestones on Barney. Yes the Yokos are stickier... :P

Falken`s suck in the rain  They are OK in the dry..and they do last for yonks...mine were $110 i think probably over a year ago at bob jane...i think i got ripped then...

I`m going A539`s next 8)

I would look at you brakes as well, cause the car should still stop in a straight line...

Yea in the rain with all that grime mixed with water on the road - slamming the brakes hard at speed will make most things slide wouldnt it?

But Yokkos are great - Falkens are crap in the wet - I mean dangerously crap! - I used to make the car slide in 15kmph just to test their crappyness. Then got my yokko 008's from Bob Jane for $95 - a great price and they've got good service and stores everywhere.

And yea deffinately have a look at your brakes - They might not pull in a straight line. To test just gather some speed (in the dry) and press the brakes sharply but only a part of the way down - just to start grabbing and braking the car - if it pulls to one side at brakig = brakes need adjustment.

Anyone out there tried the Yoko AO32R? It's got what they call the 'aquatusk' tread design and are meant to be really really grippyin dry and wet.

Anybody used em at all?

Matt

If I can't get her registered this weekend with my semi bald back tires I will buy 2 Yokos for the back. Next year the front bridgestones will be clean through and I will get 2 more Yokos at the front. Hopefully the back ones will only be 50% spent by then.

On the other hand, I can wack on ye olde tyres for the back and save $400 for a whole new set... later on...

We'll see what my mates down at the local Ultra tune say this weekend (that's where I get my greens done)

Its a good idea with Minis to have your best tyres on the driven wheels...
