ive had my mini for 10months and a name is yet to come to my head. An old friend told me one day it'll just pop into my head without me thinking about it

ill describe him for you and perhaps my mini can be named by you, you adorable rugged ugly bunch of gentlemen and women

My Mini is 35 years old, going onto 36 this August.
He's english, very white, no dignified tan at all, short and stocky.
He is bald, very shiny, very white head.
My Mini wears glasses, thick black rims, and there's the masking tape job on the bridge where he dropped them and accidentally stepped on them as he croutched down to feel for the glasses.
He wears the brown pants with cream business shirt to work, and on Sundays he wears brown shorts with dark brown socks that go up to his knees and dont do much for him since his legs are so thick.
My Mini works at the local bank as an accountant who keeps his pencils nice and sharp. The erasers on ends are kept pink and scuff free with his trusty checkered hankerchief he keeps in his left tweed jacket pocket.
the chicks dig him, they think he's real cute but wouldnt ever actually have sex with him
My Mini goes home every night at 5:02pm after cleaning up his desk at 5:00pm.
He is an automatic, so is slow, stops to smell the flowers and lives happily at his own pace.

do you know someone like this?

Firsty, like ships, all cars should be female. She should have a female name like Dorathy etc, preferably english but it is your own choice...

I have yet to name mine too :)

what kind of woman is bulbous, short, stocky, and has a stick?
i know i wouldnt like riding one of them

i see my mini for its shape and character, not the stereotypical enforcements that this chauvenistic male dominated society has placed upon cars.
but forefathers, i love the urinals. thanks for letting us piss standing up

Duc mate, I read your story then scanned the names you are thinking of.... WINSTON stands out like the dogs danglies.

But.....I agree that the name should come to you, and others shouldn't have to choose it for you.

When I bought my Mini I had no idea that it is like a Mini culture to name it. the name of JAM just came about as an acronym from my website, but it stuck and I like it.

You have surely heard how Steve E names his mini's? Maybe you can generate a name in the same fashion?!?

My first Mini - white 68 Deluxe - was called Snowdrop. LOL! My Mum named it.

Now I have:
- Skippy the Mini K van.
- Trixie the Traveller.
- Mopoke the Moke (cos its a Moke with no poke!)
- Jill the Jackaroo (cos its my wife's car and hence she insists it's a Jillaroo, not a Jackaroo.)

Jill is the only non-Mini I have owned worthy of receiving a name. 8)

My car is just called Mini. However, when I'm being more formal, I call it "The Mini'.

his formal name that he puts on his bank business cards is "Mr Minimatic Morris" because he's part of the Morris family

Traditions of naming vehicles has always been for western countries to name them in the female sense, calling them a she. Russians do exactly the opposite, referring to the vehicle in the male sense or a "he". So whatever your name for your car, sit back have a beer, find yer favourite movie, and relax. You'll figger one out that you really like sooner or later.

Oh, My clubby's name is Helene, for my better half

I've had Scarlet O-Hara (after the paint colour), George and Miss Min. Now I have Charlie.

But Winston seems to just fit the description

My mini is called Charlotte. Initially I named her after that bird off Sex & The City cause she is a fox.

Then when I scored the Leyland shell I was walking through brisso on my way to work and thinkin' about all the good resto work I might do to it.... and I happened to be on Anne St. So I've called her Anne. Which also kinda fits nicely cause I realised they're both names of Queen's of Great Britain which is where our fine cars originated. To quote Bruce McAvaney from the 2000 olympics... "you can feel the synergy"

Go Bruce!
