my windscreen wipers are terrible and it was so hard to drive tday cause it was raining pretty heavy are all mini wipers crap or do i just need new blades.

can i get sum performance wipers with a strong spring to hold em down better

ure lucky....my electrics got wet and mine stopped working...what a fun drive home that was...

..but yeah...can windscreen wipers be modded to work better (when they do work that is...lol) ?

Get new wiper blades. Don't buy cheap, don't buy fancy. Just buy good quality ones like Trico brand blades.

Make sure that the blades are sitting flat on the screen, you may need to do a little bending to fix things. While you are bending things grab the wiper arm down low with one and and bend the top of the arm towards the screen. This will add a little more tension to the arm (this was in a BMC service bulletin)

If you add to much tension to the wipers the 40 year old wiper motor may not like it!

Awesome stuff. Basically some sort of thin alcohol coating on the windscreen, repels
water. It's about $2 for a single wipe, or $6 for a small bottle.
Together with new blades, you won't have problems at all.

Yes Rain X is the best for wet weather , you dont need wipers on at all, well sometimes... the water just pools off like when you have freshly polished your paintwork.
Best with new blades too.

Those trico blades are good. For a mini you only need 1 standard car blade, save the other one for the next 30,000 miles

now, what can you do about the inside fogging up, other than cut down on heavy breathing?

Cut a hole in the floor pan, and stick a hose out of it, which you can breathe through. You could make one for each passenger in the car. I'm and ideas man!

Mine hardly ever fogs up..if it does..use the 1/4 windows

there's RainX stuff you can buy for external glass, and this other stuff you buy for internal glass that helps with the fogging. not sure what it is, but it might be made by the same people. sorry about the poor description - the bottles are in a box in the car and i've not looked at them in months.

i've been very interested in a wiper mods for a while. would be first thing i'd put on a non-standard mini.

It's called Rain-X anti Fog.
In a black bottle, where as Rain-X is in yellow.
