hi guys
just fitted the new mastercylinderi've yet to road test it tomorrow hope goes well .the pedal feels ok nice and firm unlike before
the reason for this upgrdae is for the metro brakes fitted to the car

What the....whats it off...i'd be using a strong hose clamp than that.,...but you do have more experiance than me..so I'll shut up now :lol:

it's out of a mazda 323 (brand new master)
had a few dramas with the fittings as there are 3 types of threads

that clamp your talking about is only a feed line ie: no pressure there

Hi Guys

Sorry for reviving a very old thread, but I couldn't find any other info on this.

Does anyone know the exact model that these master cylinders are off? Also can anyone tell me the bore sizes?

It is from a Mazda 323 rwd 1977-1978
PN. JB1309 or JB1611 either will do one has a boot on the pushrod end the other don't can't remember which is which.
Cost about $130 new the one with out the boot is cheaper.
Bore size 13/16"
I use these on both my starlet powered car and my race car and they work well just can be a bit of a pain to bleed because they stand up in a mini.

I just changed the master cylinder on my wifes 89 AT Telstar (626), it looks similar but different. 7/8" (22.22mm.)

bit impractical having to stand the car on its nose to top up the fluid :wink:

but bleeding the brakes would be easier having proper access to the brakes whilst its on its nose :wink: :wink:

Awesome thanks guys...

Was gonna get one from pick-a-part to it fit up run lines etc, then get it rebuilt it closer to completion, but they don't even have old 323s anymore.
Might have to go straight for a new one.
