Finally got my car home on the weekend. Just one step to go now before the car can be logged as an Improved production Race car and that's removal of the sun roof (not allowed in open circuit racing).

A HUGE thanks to Nuclear Mini for installing the roll cage, man that would have ben a pain in the ass of a job. Whlie the interior was out, a had all the rust cut out of the floor (not a lot but enough to annoy me) I intalled new carpet and a really really nice suede steering wheel.

When I finally got to drive the car I tried to keep a really open mind about how diffirent the roll cage would make the car feel. I kept telling myself to expect no difference. WOW as soon as I pulled out onto the road the car felt fantastic you cant beleive how much a mini must flex until you drive the same mini with and without a roll cage, the car feels like it sits on the road soooo much better and is heaps and heaps more responsive to steering input.

Here are a couple of pix.

And yes it's still for sale, just a slight increase in the price

If you are in Sydney or surrounds, BOND roll bars at regents park do a greta bolt in 6 point mini cage the same as the one I have (but with a different crass bar). They cosy $850 with the door bars bit they chanrge and extra $650 to install it - goves you some sort of indication of how much of a pain in the ass teh job must be.

OH, if you are thinking of getting one be carefull. Even with my drivers seat bolted to the floor there is not enough clearance between my head and the hoop to get it engineer approved.
