yup, I got my points back, and my licence carried on as usual. No extension to my P's. Went on my Open licence about a year later. happiest day of my life, I reckon.

The BS thing was, I handed my licence in to the DOT, handed them the paperwork, and they handed me back one copy. I thought that I had to carry that with me until I went to court. Got to court and the magistrate asked me if I had my licence. Told him what happened and he crapped on about me driving for a month without a licence. My boss told me he'd keep me on at work even if I lost my licence. I thought I was toast. Talked my butt off, and ended up getting it back. Surprised ht hell out of me, since he saw all of my Undue Noise by Manner of Operation of a motor vehicle fines(burnouts, loud stereo etc.). that would have been about 20 of them.

okay, first thing is first. if you want to appeal for your licence, then you must have reason. About the only reason they will accept is Hardship due to loss of income. That means your job must depend on you having a licence. My boss had to front court for me, and state that I would lose my job if I lost my licence.

yeah i went and lodged an appeal today....$80 just to get it started

i spoke to my boss and he said he'd write a letter telling them i need my lisecence to get home from work late at night and that without it i wouldnt be able to work because of uni during the day......so i now have a temporary permit until i get to court in late august i think................by which time i would have been on my full liscence :(

here we go again!...

....well not quite, but..... i headed into the magistrates court today to appeal my disqualification and the hearing was yesterday! well i can assure you thats not what the hearing notice from the registrar said! so i show them the notice and sure enough it said it was today at 2:15.....for some reason unbeknown to me, they seem to think thats its not their fault and i dont deserve another hearing....what the hell is wrong with these people  :?:

i got another hearing organised for next month but still......this is driving me insane

They're the Public Service. Do we need to explain further??

If they admitted they were wrong, then they'd look like fools. We couldnt have them looking like what they really are.

apparently it depends a lot on the judge... i heard some people who had a very good case for appealing and lost, but others seem to get it easy. My bro was practically rolling down a hill in victor harbour, and there was a laser gun cop at the bottom and he got done for 102 in the 60 zone (and even got a mention on the radio for it) lost all 4 p's points... anyway went to appeal, and the guy before him who'd lost his licence as well got it back with the reason he needed his car do drive to work and apparently the guy worked 9 to 5 and had to drive from morphett vale to reynella (next suburb) - so the fact he (my bro) worked shiftwork about half an hour away meant he got it back easy... the next time he lost it the judge wassn't feeling quite so generous though...
