I have been scrounging for some SU carby necks for my Cooper S air box.

I AM THE WAHL kindly sent me a standard an 1 1/4 SU neck from Vic (thanks mate 8) and I had an old 1 1/4 SU complete carb that had the other neck.

When I pulled them appart tonight, I saw one as a standard RH SU neck, the other, which came off my spare RH SU carb, looks like a double sided neck - good for a standard RH carb, or a LH carb from twin SU's.

How cool is that! :D

I would just say yes that's how they were.
But, you will get better power if you fling them both and fit a pair of sports filters.. K&N, Ramflo, Pipercross, UniFilter socks, whatever.
Those studs inside the necks cause a lot of airflow restriction. That's why S's with Police Pack twin HS4s had Ramflos on.
