Assumption- by `tie rod' you do mean the tie bar that runs forward to subframe..
If a tie bar is bent, that will increase castor, and as the bottom arm is mounted at an angle, alter the camber a little bit too.
Go buy some nice HD adjustable tie bars (& new rubbers) from Karcraft or somewhere..
Or, at least remove and straighten that bent one.

Yeap, the bar the runs to the front subframe with the holes in front and i have red poly bushes..

but it's the RH one that's bent (always has been)..noise is coming from LH passenger side..i think..lol...and it's straight..I'll look at new tie bar's though :)

A little over 6months ago, it had new CV's, and new bearings and new rubber boots all round...so i'm thinking either the bearing needs tightening? i don't know how..or a ball joint?..could be the passenger side potjoint i suppose...it's definately not a CV click as that only happens when you turn the wheel usually, and i know what it sounds like...

Bring it up tomorrow and we'll check the CV nut is tight..
Also have a look at those poly bushes. If not greased on assembly they wear like crap.
I have some newies I'll sell you if needed... :P

Update- I think we've fixed it- the 2 steering arm bolts were a bit loose on the LH hub. So we torqued them up and locked them again.
Steers better now, but probably needs another alignment. Whoever did that last time should have found this problem... :x

Yeah had a similar problem about 6 months ago.
The two bolts were extremely loose!
Made the steering do its own thing.
Very scary stuff.

Yeap, it feels good now, thanks! 8)

No more bump steer, alignment isn't toooo bad..can last until when i replace the tires i say...

Braking is a bit smoother too, i suspect there was a kinda pulsating effect cause of it...

Steering column has started to move up on the the spline again though :(

Take it off and have a good look at the splines, if OK recut the slot in column with 2 hacksaw blades then tighten up.

Will do 8) ..just take the clamp off and make the gap bigger so i have more space to tighten the bolt yea?

I need a rubber bush down there as well..does it just wrap around the column down the bottom? or do i need to remove anything?

It's a nylon bush on a Clubbie- get a new one first. It's split so easy to fit.
