The top plate is just flat sheet steel, make one from S/S & polish it. Or chrome the old one.
These valves new were unobtainium for a while, I believe you can now get them again.

Hey all, I put the Smiths PCV valve back on Ha-Ha's Weber manifold for his blueslip (gotta look legit, hey- no plastic vent bottle... ) and guess what, he goes even harder!.
Hmmm.... very interestingggggggg... Ill leave it on until next Wakefield Pk track day... :D

I found the same thing when I put mine back on a couple of weeks ago. It ran heeps smoother and quieter as well. Mines attached to the vacum port on my Minispares HIF44 manifold with the vacuum port on the carb plugged with silicon. No more oily fumes either.

UPDATE-
I've just removed The Smiths PCV valve and gone back to the old 2 hoses into a bottle trick..
It was hard to start in this cold weather, and ran like a dog (at low revs) until warm.
If putting one of these onto a Weber manifold, I'd mount it on the breather then plumb it into both ports, not just one like I've been doing.
It's running fine now. :P

<Cough cough..> can't stand the bloody engine fumes coming thru hole in firewall, after 2 days..
So, it's back on now, but plumbed into both ports. Along with a change from 50 to 55 idle jets, it's running sweet.
Here's a pic-

Ahem! He did this AFTER using Lillee as a guinea pig!

Lillee has almost the exact same layout, cept the breather connects to the tappet cover breather (installed one when putting on the new head). Idles the best that she has ever idled, and goes harder too!

Got to love it! I can tell all the idiots that ask that it's a BOV   :P

Yep, MiniMania have them in US, MiniSpares UK too.

Karcraft had them listed last year but not now.

Padstow would probably have some S/H ones. New diaphragms are still available from Karcraft.
