Keep it totally original mate, with the exception of a good set of alloy wheels and custom exhaust. Make the wife think, the wheels were her idea.

I am a huge fan of modifying.... HOWEVER! I owned a traveller up until recent;y and I would not dare of modifying it at all.

If you feel the need to mod it, go period mods... Or things that cant be seen... For instance, ported head...

One thing I would think about fitting if the car was to be used on a regular basis is discs... They would not kill any of the value, especially if you kept the original drums to go with the car if it was ever to be sold...

My 2c worth at any rate

I'm all for originality as well and I agree on the disc's. I just think a nice set of alloy wheels for your comfort, you can easily take them off for a sale. You also have best of both worlds, keeping the car original, with an easy to change modification. Also a few performance engine mods to keep up with traffic :D

Agreed, except when they are into minis as well and fund half the project.

Or in cases where it's her mini and she funds all of the resto

If it was any other mini I'd say customise for sure, but being a traveller I'd definately restore to original glory :D

Thanks for all the advise so far everyone, how about this for a thought , if I can't have it customised totally what about if I leave it the poxy blue/green colour on the exterior and customise the seats, leaving the tombstones but changing the colour and if I keep the original wheels and buy new hub caps!!!vomit, put disc brakes on it, I'll have to put my Alpine and Stacker somewhere?
How about that so far?

Janelle

Hey, could you get some pics and details up of your trailer some time?
Looks really good, and I've wanted to make one for a while, just never get round to it.

I am a huge fan of customised cars, but I agree with the masses. Keep the car close to original as it's such a rare find.

Whack some discs on and go to town with the engine, but keep it stock looking inside and out and you'll have an awesome car.

Good luck with it - and more accurately good luck convincing the missus!!!

A dilemma I have faced. Modify all you want but make sure you can return it to standard with no evidence of the mods, even to using another motor and keep the original for the future. i am not doing anything to my van I cannot undo with no evidence, or that is the current plan. Its value can only rise as an original car Thats my two cents worth.
