Hey sorry, I was just wondering if someone could explain to me (in very simple terms) how to remove the dizzy from the mini. I know you have to get it to TDC, but I'm not exactly sure how to do this. the manual confused me. i can't find the little dial which has the numbers which you need to get to number 1. It's on a deluxe 69

so you want to remove the dizzy, but with the motor at TDC on #1 ?

Take off dizzy cap, rotate crank till rotor points to #1 plug lead. remove #1 plug to confirm it IS at TDC. Undo dizzy retaining bracket (2 bolts), remove dizzy.

i dont bother bout getting TDC when taking the dizzzy out just mark the dizzy with a scratch lined up with the middle of the bracket.
then loosen the left bolt i think undo it anticlock wise only a couple of times and pull her out..
then u can now play around... change your points and your condensor...
when ready to put back in line up the mark in the middle then slide it in... and your timing should be right and your sweet

I always think it is a good idea to put a long bolt in the distributor drive gear to prevent it from falling into the gearbox when the distributor is out. When you have removed the dizzy, look down the hole. (a torch helps) the thing at the end with the slot across it is the dizzy drive gear. it has a bolt thread in the middle of the end of it, can't remember the size.

Not so important if you are leaving the dizzy mounting plate in the block, but trust me, if you are taking that out too, it is worth it
