I personally think that SPAM should be discouraged from AUSMINI. Who cares if your posting rate is lower then others. This site has been set-up to discuss mini related things and thats how I think it should stay. Way to much of the space on this site is wasted by SPAM. I have bought a number of AUSMINI stickers, so kinda see myself as a "share holder" .. haha ... so thats why I want to voice my opinion. I just dont want to see peoples money getting wasted!

Yes and I know I have been guilty of spaming myself ... but i think we should put a stop to it!

I agree. Signal to noise ratio has gone downhill lately. Let's keep it about Mini's!

If you must post BS stick to general or macca's poolroom. If not, I hope you drop your distributor drive in your sump :P

Moderators should be more diligent and if the spamer lost 2 credits off their post tally for every spam message they would soon slow down

And WTF is with the i paid for stickers i am a share holder.. GOD dam. Does anyone go out of there way these days to thank poeee for his time and maybe money for the domain name and what not..

and the New chat room is not free.. I pay for that out of my own pocet..But I am not running around saying having a cry about some spam..... big deal....

For Anti-SPAMers I reckon the SPAM room is a good thing if you don't visit it then at the worst case you won't be reading and more SPAM but if it works as what I suppose is it's purpose then there should be less SPAM elsewhere.

It also gives the mods(and others who would rather things stayed a bit more on topic) a way of moderating but allows them to be a bit more tolerant.

ie rather than saying "You just wrote garbage, shut up" they can say "you just wrote garbage take it to the spam forum" I don't know but the second might be a bit less likely to raise a confrontation which most often is not to anyone's benefit and means that nothing is resolved.

I think some of the SPAMers realise they are detracting from the purpose of providing information / help etc but like discussed before like the chat this gives them somewhere to do this.

My 2 cents :D

The poolroom, although being a forum dedicated to SPAM, has done a lot of good for ausmini. While the spam may continue to flourish on ausmini, the magority of it does so in the poolroom. People are spamming as much as they used to, but instead of it being in every forum, it is being confined.

Dont let the actions of a few change your oppinion of ausmini. The majority of the spammers do not post spam in forums other than the poolroom. poeee has worked hard to get ausmini the way it is, ie a place where people can talk about their passion, while at the same time having a joke.

More people will leave if we moderate this forum heavily than if we leave it how it is. and while that may seem like a good thing to some, remember, most of the spammers contribute too, and have valid points to put forward. Its not always just spam coming from them.

having said that, this latest problem is caused solely by one person. Thats all. poeee was not happy with what was done either, and will deal with the problem.

I for one enjoy the mix of Mini-Stuff and light hearted BS. I don't think you really need a 10,000 post count, but hey if that's what floats your boat, good on you :) I think the advent of the SPAM forum has cleaned up a lot of the off-topic stuff, but hasn't gone too far. We don't want a forum where people are scared to post something because they'll get moderated or heckled!! Like GT said, if you don't like it don't read it 8)

This is a FREE service - let's not forget that. Poeee and everyone else do a great thing by providing this forum, and some people feel the need to tell them how to run it. Ever heard the saying don't bite the hand that feeds you? Be nice FFS!!

my 2c!!

PS. willy, If I see that damn frog in the street I'm going to run the bastard over!!

Personally, I don't think it's a problem at all.
You need to have a bit of a laugh on every forum and if it all gets too serious, than people won't log on regular.
Post numbers are a toss, I couldn't care less how many times I write.

What about the wally that makes a spam post look like a legit post?

I kinda agree with the dont like it dont read it thing, but if it gets to the point where you are wading through crap trying to find a couple of mini or tech related posts then it's just not worth it.

We've got a LOT of knowledge & experience on this board, it would be really disappointing all go pear shaped.

When I first came to these forums there was no spam, i couldnt beleive it, finally a forum where the idiots with nothing of any actual interest have their posts removed.......

but now...well...its gone downhill rapidly.

Sifting through the crap to find a relevant post is getting more and more difficult.

I am yet to understand why people feel the need to post irrelevant crap, do they get some form of joy out of it ? I dont get it. Keep ausmini forums up to scratch or u'll just get members losing interest and finding other sources for mini information.
