I think Pipercross are just another foam filter- depends whether you like foam filters as opposed to K & Ns....
I do, I run a Ramflo with Finer Filter element- they are easy to clean, and take up less space (which I don't have) than a K & N. And they DO work (if you oil them). Amazing how much crap they can hold.

Hey doc how do you clean and oil your Finer Filter?? I know they have their own oil.

I've always been taught with any foam filter to wash them in 4 stroke petrol to get all the crud out, and then soak them in 2 stroke fuel and oil, then wring it out.

Not real smart for your hands, but it certainly worked effectively on all of my 2 stroke engine filters

I wash it in mineral turps, dry it for an hour or two, then put Finer Filter or Unifilter oil on it and squeeze out the excess. Finish up with blue hands..
If you don't oil them and they load with fuel, they can catch fire.. the special oils above have fire retardant in them.

<edit> Finer Filter went belly-up a year or so back, and got bought by Unifilter, but I've got a couple of filter pads for mine....
I think the Lynx Ramflo filters now have special oil too.

Mind you I do use a Finer Filter element in it- the Lynx one was a POS...

No but it doesn't shrink like the Lynx `shaped' ones. It flat and oval, when you put it into the Lynx mesh it sticks out a little all round. Makes it seal.

Can't buy 'em anymore though. Unifilter don't stock- they might make with some arm twisting...
