i thnk a little bit of light hearted spam here and there is fine, but there is a limit. i myself have just "spammed" someones question, but hopefully the question asker will find it amusing. its when someone cracks a joke then someone else replys to the joke is when it gets out of hand.

a little bit of fun never hurt anyone, but if you want to just rant on about irrelevant drivel endlessly, well we have the poolroom (wheres the friggin pool table!!!), the general discussion and games forums.

anyway, who gives a rats about post count? YAY i got 1000 posts big f'ing deal, i think this can be summed up in 3 words

Quality not quantity

This is Wolfman here, can't access my old account so created a new one  Spam hey, well for a start this was posted in the Mini Chat section so that makes this entire post spam  I don't mind a bit of spam every now and then (it adds a bit of life to the forum) it was getting a little outa hand but at least it's mainly in it's own section now, I'm sure you'll still get a bit now and then in the normal rooms but show me a forum that doesn't have any, if it exists I bet it's dead as

Hahah
One minute the Spamers are whinging about over moderation and now the non spamers
are whinging about the spammers.
I think its funny everone takes ausmini so seriously.
I guess i personally like a bit of a balance between the spam and the moderation.
I personally dont think its the spam or the mderation thats the problem on Ausmini
but all the bloody whingers from both sides.
Thanks for making ausmini though poeeee.

What can I say that hasn't been already said.

Since the poolroom has been implemented. Yes, it was "implemented" for the sole purpose of getting the spam confined in one area, to keep the useful stuff rather crap free. It has definatly worked.

There is, however, one member who just doesn't get it. He's been delt with by humiliation. I thought that would be the best way to deal with it, humiliate the smart ass! Who else agree's?

i think we everyone needs to look at it a bit more light heartedly.

before there were like 10 spam posts to 1 useful posts.
now there's probably still 10 spam posts to 1 useful posts.

but 9/10 of the spam posts are in makka's poolroom.

DO NOT ENTER THE POOL ROOM AND U WONT HAVE TO DEAL WITH SPAM.

the rest of the forum has a very little amount, so little that all it does it add a community feel.

my tip:

dont click "posts since last logged on" just surf through the website and read what u want to read..

Yep, that's the best way to avoid the spam. It's very easy to distinguish posts you havn't yet read while browsing, so really no need to use the "posts since last loggon on" thinga.

An even better way to avoid spam is to ignor any post started by big willy (or little willy as he's known as currently!).

No useful comments... 100% trash.

Let's just give him a break and move on. No one want's to log on to a forum that's all about witch hunts. Surely now this post is dead.

Mate, I know we always but heads on this issue, but that's the pot calling the kettle black. If you don't like the whinge threads, THEN DON"T READ THEM!!!
Besides, you just had a whinge in the whinge thread.

I think the whinge threads are actually healthy. Shows people do actually care about the state of the forum.

Having said that, a few of the South-East Qqueensland crew have already dropped off ausmini for the spam battle. One made some noise, another quietly disappeared. So I call bullshit on the people who say spam is healthy.

Lastly, I think the slap on the wrist that the chief spammer got for his latest effort will do nothing to deter him. He has even been joking about it.
