Doc is right and just maybe instead of removing it a new kit and check of the mater should be made as the presure required for discs is much greater than drums and any wear or even slightly dodgy seals will soon show up with discs and it might save you the hassle of having to remove the master twice, might even save your life

What this seal does is restrict the flow back to the MC. But if you have discs this will prevent the seals from flexing the pistons back off the discs properly.
Not good... so pull it out!

Going to take seal out today. The pads had a rough surface with no shine (brand new from HMG)

Took the seal out today, noticed before I did the inside pads on both sides were still hard up against the disk. After taking seal out took it for a run brakes are better ( I think they have bedded in now ) and the inside pads are away from the disk. Am going to put the cooper s wheel cylinders in tomorrow all things going well.

glad it is all working out for you, some of the stuff they taught us in the 70s still comes in handy and not much has rally changed in the world of mini's
