A couple of questions for those that might know.

1/ After taking the Clubman for a run, I tried the heater but no heat comes out of it. All the hoses are connected and the water control valve is opening and closing but all I get is cold air. Anyone know what the prob may be???

2/ Is there meant to be reversing lights on this model ('77 Clubman LS)?

poeee says that the problem for question 1 is the same as his. Will let you know the answer when he works it out.

Question 2, yes, the blinkers should have double filiment globes, the less bright should be the reverse. 8)

Pretty sure the originals (including our 1978 Clubbie S) were 21W/21W double filament. Pretty dim reversing if you put stock stop/tail bulbs in it...

How old are the hoses :?: have you disconnected them to see what they look like inside :?: how spongy are they :?: could be collapsing...

If its the original heater core then it could be quite sad and blocked....

You sure the switch is working :?: it might be turning but all corroded out inside :?:

and are the vents are all plumbed up correctly :?: .....

I bet that crap Clubby alloy heater tap is blocked up... as usual!
I flung ours away, & put the hose straight onto the core.

Both hoses are ok and the vents are ok but I think what the Doc says is right as the alloy heater tap was jammed up and needed a dose or two of WD40 to get it to work.

Might just hook the hose straight onto the core as the Doc said. Just means more crawling around on my poor old knees. :(

It took me ages to clean out the hoses and radiator core so I ended up blasting out the crap with a garden hose, blew it out good. My tap was completely siezed up and I ended up breaking it, so its permanently half open now.... At least it works

If you leave the water running in summer (ie no tap) it means more water in circulation so better cooling. But if you want `cool' fresh air you can't get it thru the heater..
Anyhow that's what the quarter vents are for...

I'd take the heater out and flush the heater core until it runs clean my clubbie and it took over half an hour of water running through it untill I got to run remotely clean.

All that gunk in there can't be good, so I reckon it's better out than in

:?
You may have an airlock in the heater circuit so try bleeding it. Very necessary if you've had the pipes disconnected.
