Straight bolt in? The price seems a bit high after reading through the pulsar dizzy thread. I'm crap with machining etc (absolutely no experience or tools), so unless $100 is reasonable for a premodded one i'm guessing my best option is tracking a pulsar dissy myself and getting a mech to mod it for me?

Anyone got a rough price comparison from experience?

Also pulsar coils are relatively easy to come by i'm guessin?

tia - Shard.

I woudldn;t pay that much.. Its a very easy mod to do, but if you're not willing to give it ago.. I'd sugest this: find yoruself one (car yard, or jap wreckers) make sure it's in fairly good nick, check that the bushes arn't warn, vacuum is fine, etc.. Then get another mini person in your area who has done this mod and offer them some beers to help you out.. Someone should help you.. saves a mechanic ripping you off, or paying $100 for it! One of the main reasons why people do this mod is because it's cheap.
Also the coils are pretty easy to come by.. just ask for one when you get the dizzy.. I got a dizzy for $40, coil for $7 and had to get a new cap for the dizzy which was $7 from repco.

Going price around here was $40 with coil & cap. Any 1.5 ohm coil will do, ie the ones like Bosch GT40R marked `use with resistor' (but in this case it doesn't use one).

That one there has had the drive dog changed maybe, but still has the Pulsar flange thingy that needs cutting off and linished round to fit a Lucas dizzy clamp.

There's a thread here on how to mod it, step by step.

Not quite straight bolt in.

I reckon someone has seen the mod on here, or my website, and thought...'cha-ching' I am going to make some $$$.

I paid $40 for dizzy, coil, leads.....the whole hog. Having seen the good doc convert them, it's pretty easy.

Now that I have seen it done, it's pretty easy. All you will need is an angle grinder and some balls

One of the guys on here was doing it himself with just a file and a hacksaw, so if I were you I'd go for it!

Took me all of 1/2 hour with hacksaw and file, and I only paid $25 for mine  - but then I had to get the Doc to shave a mil of the face of the dog but that doesn't count

Yeah they give it a name which i cant remember.
The seller makes two accounts, and bumps up the price with the other account.
Very mean
