How rare are mini panel vans?

I've got the chance to grab a decent mini, and they guy is willing to get it sandblasted and repainted for a few extra hundred (which i'd go for if i'm getting them)

So, my question, is ~2500 cheap for a repainted mini? good brakes, good engine.

Spounds reasonable to me, just be careful that the paint isn't hiding anything that could hurt you later.

The guy said for a bit extra, he'll get it blasted, and repainted. :) so that's what i'd probably do.

I'm a bit busy, and he seems to enjoy restoring it, I just think he wants to make sure it'll go somewhere it'll get used and not just scrapped....

Which i can do :P

Is it a Clubman van? As an Australasian-only model, they're rare worldwide and I believe (as I have one as a restoration project) they are next year's Merc 280SL pagoda roof coupe - in other word, everyone will want one. In fact, they may become too sought-after and a bit of a "celebs" car. Expect to see a judge from Australian Idol drive one, or in the background of a Levis ad.

Incidentally, "a couple of hundred" to blast and repaint from bare metal is too cheap to be a proper job. Sandblasting isn't normally done to cars as it can ripple the metal through heat and pressure.

I'd be the third owner.

So very tempting...

Heh, I refuse to do a few things :)

1. Sleep with a midget. (unless she's cute and has a father who's a bajillionaire)
2. Throw a midget through a ring of fire.
3. Steal another man's car. :P

I'll have to do it the old fashioned way. With dosh.

the only reason vans are kinda rare/uncommon is that people keep cutting them in half to make trailers!

after the front half has been dinged up i do hope!

sounds like a pretty good deal, if its rwc and rego'd!
