Kevs right, my 67 MK1 Cooper S has the fitting in the boot, but i've never actually seen the bolty/screw in/hold the wheel thingy in my life.

My 68 S didn't have it as far as I remember.

My 68 Cooper S has the channels and no spare wheel mount.

A 66 deluxe (serial no YMA2S2 19516) that I used to own had the exposed hydro pipes and the mount.
