Ummmm.....Aussie Racing Cars are getting a name as being an increasingly expensive way to go racing....

I wouldn't go looking there for bargains if I were you :?

Entry level motorsport! I laugh at that!

I'm sure an AE82 with a nicely tuned 4AGE in improved production would be far cheaper way to go racing, plus it would be an easy car to build up to be competitive, too (i'd think!).

I race my supercharged 998 in IP
Body can only be cut 75mm from the wheel arch and flares can only extend 50mm a side
If done legally give a lot more grip than 10" wheels but usually handling suffers when big wheel are added

Any time a category becomes a national category and gets TV coverage the cost of racing in that category goes through the roof. Not only will a second hand Aussie Racer set you back about $30,000 but all the engines are engine rebuilds must be done by Phill Ward.

You can buy a good jap import (one of the cheapies that cant be registered here in Aus) for let's say $8000, Set it up for racing with a roll cage etc lets say $4,000 and for $12,000 your have a great little improved production racer
