The breather theory is a bit flawed in practice...although they're good and you should have them, I didn't even have ONE..still only have a rocker cover breather and I have never had any mayo or sludge build up 8)

Water vapour is a byproduct of combustion. Some finds its way past the rings & into the crankcase where it condenses on cold surfaces, like the rocker cover. Particularly in winter, and more so if the engine is running too cool eg. only short runs.
If your rings are stuffed it's more likely too.

Take it for a good long run and get it nice and hot. If it goes away stop worrying. 8)

Nah Chong, it's not the best spot- lots of oil vapour flung around there by the rockers.
Best spot is the side cover, if you have one...
Second best is the flywheel housing if you don't.
As for the timing cover... unless it's a Clubbie there's no friggin' room! :lol:
