ummmmmm, I've always thought it was rod change, but I've never really taken much notice of it.

And yeah doc, I'd already considered that. Might be the best way to go. The threads might take a bit of a hammering though.

I'd make a new one out of steel, 2 piece, threads 12mm RH, make a big nut for the middle with a lock nut each side. You can adjust length until it's perfect, then slide the bolts in.

I had one here- but gave it to some desperado with a rod change box a while back.... :lol: <edit> yeh I think it was gareth_1330... :roll:

I like remote boxes- well engineered- no need for the friggin' top steady bar.. :wink:

I think yer onto the best idea Doc. If I used a turnbuckle with left and right hand threads, i'd have to lockwire the bloody thing. UGGGHHH

Be careful using stock turnbuckles. Material spec is usually crap, made in Taiwan or China... I'd make my own. No real need to make 'em LH/RH threads, once adjusted... :wink:

<edit> and stock turnbuckles are designed for TENSILE loading only. In a Mini, when U gun it, your top steady bar is in COMPRESSION. Not a good look... :cry:

Wouldnt this be so much easier, if they just made the bracket the right freakin size in the first place???? it did cost 40 bucks
