F*** it- just take a 115mm angle grinder, fit a 1mm thick cutting disc, & cut the sucker off!
You can always weld it (or another bit of pipe) back on, that's what MIG is for. 8)

Try and use a block of wood and a hammer - just knock the y piece back by hitting its edges back gradualy on both sides.
