Heater is not an Australian MK1 or Mk2 heater (more like UK very late MK2 or Mk3/4 I think).
The heater looks just like all the Mk2 heaters that I have.

Mick,
These ones do something that the internal heaters don't- they help keep the motor cool in hot weather, without over heating you!

cooper69,,,those 2 holes you refer to look too far apart to me for them to be the old body plate rivet holes,,,,,,& normally if a MK2 "S" had a body plate, then it would be a rather large plate (very UN-LIKE the old MK1 plates) & fitted on the panel just above the drivers side subframe tower ,,,but not all MK2 "S"s actually recieved a body plate, siily i know , but true.

Ohhh very funny Morrie...I could build a whole car for 600 :!:

Thanks...I have in mind you and the Doc now.....

are heaters something you should think about plumbing in as soon as your shell is ready for the interior to be fitted :?: or can they easily be fitted later :?: (looks pretty simple )

here are some photos of a mini i brought about 12 months ago from a farmer out west. it was just sitting in his paddock rotting away. He claimed its a S but i am still unable to identify it. I have so far stripped the car ready for sandblasting and respraying. It has all the S parts that i know of but i just cant find a body number anywhere. Any ideas???? I am a little concerned about how i get it registered if it has no numbers at all.

The Cooper S heater has a couple of brackets spot welded to the firewall below the dash. You can make them out of a bit of sheet or angle and screw them to the firewall. I would fit the brackets before the carpet (the carpet has a couple of slots cut in it) but you can fit the heater anytime.
