Just scored myself a Californain moke with 1275 a series engine and disc brakes, and all the other good bits for $400. So suck on that Poeee :P and I didnt have to flog it off from old lady like you lot do down south do. Moke isnt in bad shape either. I was about to head to Mackay to pick up a moke front end for $1000 advertised in the Queensland mini clubs site. But got a phone call from an old mini owner and he has to clear out his crap to go down south. So lucky me got a phone call cause he couldnt find the Nth Qld mini rep's number.

Victory at Last!!!

And Cowboys finally get a Channel 9 televised game.

Townsville is looking up :

I used to work in a Lounge\Bar\Night Club next to and belonging to a big Sydney Hotel. And the Cowboys, and Warriors and Roosters and all the Union sides and bla bla bla stay there all the time. Now before the recent rape allegation scandals and long enough after the ones before that when the League didnt keep everyone on a tight leash of abstenance and chirch on sundays we'd get the the footy players coming down every night.

With the NTh Cowboys youd get 3 separate groups (with the only thing in common ammongst them being that they wont drink unless the club manager pays for it, pretty sad really). There was the big group of the big heavy old fashioned footy player blokes dressed like theyre at a country wedding all of them ordering VBs and Bundy cokes and champers for the missus. Then youd get the club managers who were more casual and kept aside and would order "Crownies mate" and only Crown as a symbol of status I guess. But then there was a smaller group which seemed to grow every time they'd come of the new generation pretty boy players who only play in Townswille but live in Brissy or something, with pointy mohowk hair and pink shirts and collars up and puma shoes etc. And they'd order the more fashionable imported Corona beer.

And me and the other bartenders had this thing going which was funny at the time where wed take the piss out of the club manager with stuff like "Mate whats going on, I'm a cowboys supporter since I was two and what are you doing to the young generation? What kinda pretty boy, Corona sipping, hair styling sissys are you raising here? If I was in for that sort of thing I might as well go for the Roosters or switch to AFL altogether".

It prob sounds lame now but was funny at the time.

makka the fact that you have the song is very telling......

Qld has some real bargain cars, i know of two deluxes for under $500 each. Found in the Tradingpost, not rego'ed but for a grand you get two cars(2 sellers) and you make one and sell the left over parts for what you would have bought it for. there giving away free mini's up there. you just have to think about it.

Bugger!

My Moke owed me more than $400 before I even had an engine or a set of disks.

Lucky Sod! :(

But Hey, I got my Traveller complete for Free! :D

Ok, Scotty. I'm not jealous. (Insert Profanity here). I already have a 1275 in my clubby(More profanity). And that disc setup is going to need an overhaul(Really Loud Profanity). Seems like you got quite a good deal. I'd be interested in knowing where you li..... I mean got them.

Anyways, did ya end up making it to the swap meet at Rollingstone? I ended up getting home late, and couldnt make it in the morning, so I just gave up on finding anything good there. Had way too much crap on lately. The rear exhaust mounts gave up the ghost a few days ago, and I've had it hanging on a piece of lockwire till I can get it to the Zorst shop. I need a holiday, everything seems to be breaking on the car, and even if I buy new stuff, it doesnt bloody fit LOL
