Recently I've noticed a knocking sound coming from the rear right wheel area. It's not very loud (I have to strain to here it ove the motor/exhaust which is loud) goes away on smooth road but comes back on rough roads, almost sounds like something bouncing up and down in the boot (I'm removing the spare today to see if it makes any diff, I really don't think that's the problem). Any ideas on what I should check for?

Had that once, turned out to be a loose wheel nut. Ended up snapping a stud. Might be worth a look.

Yep, checked em yesterday.

Jack the wheel off the ground grab the wheel top and bottom and try to wiggle it if it has movement then you will need to look further also try grabbinfront and back of the wheel.

If it moves then it is probly wheel bearings or (more likely as it was quite on the road) the swing arms need reconditioning... you can buy a reconditioning kit for the swing arms, has new roller bearing and bushes rubber seals, endcaps, grease nipple, shaft, nuts and washers etc. The bush needs reaming to size though probably take it to a machining shop to do it for you.

check the nylon cup at the bottom of the suspension trumpet, it normally squeeks before it goes but it could be metal on metal and knocking everytime you hit a bump.

Also check the subframe mounts.

its is something to do with the suspention..all those above could be it

I highly doubt it's the bearings, I checked them when I replace the slave. I'm leaning towards suspension, shocks are fine, virtually new. I'll check the other suggestions tomorrow if I get the time, I really hope it's not the radius arm but it's sounding like it and considering I just got the bloody rates in the timing would be right
