I figure if I'm going to rebuild my 1275 myself, I'd better get the right tools for the job or know where I can get them. What will I need apart from a good socket and spanner set, and a good torque wrench?
Any other tools that may not be needed, but come in useful for some of those more annoying jobs?
Thanks.

A flywheel puller springs to mind...

Primary gear oil seal tool .

You do not want to damage that seal big job to get it all back in and find out you damaged it and pull it all back out.

What size torque wrench would anyone recommend I get?
Meaning, what torque rating over the maximum tightened part strength should I get?

W&B still the best IMO, but I can't afford (I do have their baby 180in/lb one)

If you must buy a cheapo one the dial & pointer ones are more believable than the cheap clicker ones. Eh, Aaron...

Vernier calipers and a micrometer come in handy too.

Feeler gauges
Lots of WD40

Aviation gasket cement - but use sparingly (you could probably scrape enough of that crap from inside my engine to do 3 others).
Loctite red threadlock (to replace the crumbling metal lockplates.

Buy or arrange to borrow some large sockets for the harmonic balancer and the main bolt (1 5/16" methinks)
Engine lifting brackets

LOTS AND LOTS OF SMALL CONTAINERS OR ZIPLOCK BAGS TO STORE NUTS, BOLTS WASHERS ETC. AND CLEARLY LABEL EVERYTHING IN DETAIL - ESPECIALY IF YOURE GONNA BE DOING THE REBUILD OVER A LONG PERIOD. OTHERWISE YOURE DONE FOR IT - COZ YOU'LL PRETTY MUCH NEED TO STRIP ANOTHER ENGINE TO FIND STUFF YOU LOOSE.
btw getting a cheapo buggered 998 scrap block is not a bad idea either, coz you could strip it for any bolts etc, you might need. Very useful.
