I dont care for Black and White so it not a real dramer.
It does say replacment on the box which is why i'm asking
Three thing to notice...1.3 on the odomiter, Dot above the 30 Mile mark and the fact it has a diferant arm..
Its a Mk 1 but otherwise I'm unsure. It's going into the rally dash and will love to get it past the 90mark. Additionaly will a Clubman Speedo cable Fit, I think So.

Otherwise I'm not to worried as it will be Dyno'd down at Franks otherwise Mini Classic/ Graham's

It is an early 850 speedo, it'll work yes but you will need to replace the speedo cable to the early type screw in one, rather than the clubman type. cost you about $20 odd dollars. This type of speedo people couldn't give away as they wanted the three clock binacle(black) ones. But are starting to make a come back it seems. As Dr said it is set for a specific ratio and you will probably need to get it setup for your car if you want it to read acurate. Mind you what mini speedo reads accurate?

its lust like a back light or something so you can actually read the dial at night or something

Sorry - I wasn't looking properly. My screen shown pics a bit dark so after loading it into a graphics probram and lightening I see what you are talking about and I have to say I don't have a clue. Dial is identical to mine but nothing at the 30 MPH mark.

Mine is out of the car and sitting by the computer as I type. The backlight comes in from under the black ring onto the face

I've seen a three binnacle Cooper/K instrument binnacle in front of the steering wheel, so it can be done. Or you could do like me and not bother with a speedo cable at all!

30MPH was the speed limit then but that dot is a touch beyond. Have you seen the actual unit or just the photo? Could it be an image artifact?

Possible I will not be able to get on long enought Enquiry time

Yes I have the Speedo in my hot little hands and got a great price of Ebay with no one bidding. The spot is on the 30Mile mark

Im still interested on what you think regarding to having a 1.3Miles on the speedo for the blue slip. will they except it or expect the original odomiter with...yer what ever Miles on it. I will replace the old Speedo if need be for the slip and the switch them after
