That's all well and good at a car show with 1000 entries, but you're talking about an in club show that has usually around the 50 mark. your suggestion of seperate classes with 1st 2nd and 3rd in each class would be a little impractical and costly.

It's basically a display day, with a little competition thrown in for the people that want to go that way.

I know my car isn't worth entering, so I display it with the rest, but leave the competition for the people with show cars. The thing I love about the club is that everyone is encouraged to bring their cars along whether they're concours winners or daily driven rust buckets.

A good example of this was last years Motorfest - a show in the CBD of Sydney on Australia Day. I wouldn't have even considered bringing my car along, but was talked into it by Rae (our president) and a few others. My car is rough as guts, but I had just as many people coming to talk to me about it as the others, if not more. I think it gave out the impression that you DON'T have to spend mega dollars to have a car in the club.

As a first time show entrant this year, we come away with some great feedback from people , it was great to have people come up and ask how we done certain things on the car and trailer, and seemed to be genuinely interested in what we had done.

Great day thanks everyone for making us feel welcome and good to put some faces to some usernames. :D

Fair enough, I realise it would take a fair bit of organisation and may not be practical, just an idea.

I spoke to the guy that won it prior to it being announced, he was hoping to win it and i think he will be proud to say he did! Lives up on the northern beaches, he and his partner were nice people. They may even turn up on here sometime. Sorry Makka, but spray on dust from a can won't win it for you.next you will be wanting to drive around above all the traffic because you feel safer! Your such a mosman mum!

Cheers

Aaron

As far as the shows go, maybe we could please everyone by not having any judging. Would people still come if the clubs held "Display Days"?

Totally agree Jan.
Is a little 'tin cup' the reason you built your Mini in the first place??? Surely not. Hopefully you restored/rebuilt your car because you love it and enjoy it.

I think just display days would be just as good - no judging, no trophies, just like minded Mini enthusiasts enjoying their cars.

Cheers
