Boy am i'm i gonna get flamed for this one...

They are not 'roundies'. They are not even Minis. They are quite different altogether... They are, in fact, Rovers. More closely related to a bloody Diesel Land Rover than a Mini.

Fire at will!!! :P

But, whilst i do enjoy my Clubby, i want a Roundie. :D

ummm no... rover were accually the ones who gave the mini a rebirth after it nearly died in the 80's, so they are champions, roundies are what have the round front, doesnt have to be a mk1, they made the roundnose mini since the begging and to my knowledge hardly if ever stopped production untill 2000 when it died completely, so no, the rover mini is a mini not a 4x4, although i wish it was a 4x4, that would rule!!!

ok so what is a Clubman then?? a ****ing Volkswagen????

 Steady on there, son.. I used to be a VW & Formula Vee mechanic, once.... :P Beetles have feelings too you know.

The original Mini was perfect, Issigonis made it so.. but BL just couldn't leave well enough alone, and so they butchered the front to create `market appeal'? (not)..

At least the Poms had the good taste eventually to can it- they then went back to what they were good at- building roundnose ones....

EDITED...ok so i am a nut case......i vowe to not bite anymore. i love all minis. round or square. (just square a little more) at the end of the day a mini is a mini

but i still pose the question, if the Clubman is not a mini, what exactly is it???????

Well to be pedantic, to quote TheMiniMan in Oz it's NOT called a Clubman, apart from the early ones... from 73? on they are just Leyland Mini, Leyland Mini S etc...

So Chris, it really IS a Mini, after all... FFS read the friggin' name on the back!!

To quote from Leyland Australia Brochure 1978:
The exclusive Club of the Clubman.
A Club of people who want a little bit of fun parked in there driveway.
Now lets talk about the greatest Mini of them all...
The New Mini Clubman.
The greatest Mini of them all.....
The greatest Mini of them all boast a long list of improvements, which
isn't bad when you consider the "old" Mini was great to begin with.
The New Mini Clubman is a master of deception.
Good things come in small packages..

Nothing wrong with a P76-You could fit a 44gallon drum and six bales of
hay in the boot.
Plus the back seat was unbelievable-Believe it or Not!!!
