Mine are a constant source of embarasment, so whats the best place to get some (just the rubber strip that leans on the windup glass preventing water seepage), spectrum rubber, or are those items generic?

And where can I get the little metal brackets\clips that hold those rubbers to the door?

I did them recently, I had to buy them from Padstow and paid a motza all up. The vertical rubbers aren't too bad but the moulded for'd sections were very pricey cos they are so specialized for the mini.
I think it was about 110 dollars all up for both sides.

I did the vertical bits a while back, but seem to remember all I needed to do was replace pop rivets to fit them. I think you can do those ones without pulling the door apart.

I don't know about other people's experiences with the front moulded rubbers, but making the buggers in the front stay in the channels after fitting them had me wailing like a cheerleader.

Yea, they never stay in - Ron Weller with the amazing orange mini doesnt open the quarter windows at all, to stop that from happening.

But I knew you guys would think of the wrong rubbers thats why I said "just the rubber strip that leans on the windup glass preventing water seepage" ie the ones for the actual windup glass not the quarter glass. (The quarter glass ones are $46 from Spectrum rubber and you do have to remove the whole assembly and unscrew the glass section to install them)

Oh, now I geddit. Oops.

Got mine from Mini Auto in Ipswich (QLD). They aren't that expensive as they are fairly generic. Clips were a few cents each from same. Get more than you need, the more the better.

Even if the old clips seem ok, they will probably break when you try to refit the rubber as the replacement rubber has a thicker bead on the bottom for the clip to grab. You may even need to trim a little off to fit in the clip.

I got mine from classic motoring here in Canberra they were a bit expensive for what they were. I have no idea whether they are available else where but I expect so.

they are easy installed just wind down the window and use a knife to release the clips that hold the old seal in, cut the new seal to length and push it in...

If you can try to line up as many of the clips with the cut outs in the seal as this avoids stretching the clips too far and makes them 'grab' better IMO.

The correct replacement spare parts name is..
Outer window belt mould/weaterstrip.
Just a tip to make them last longer...
When you wind your window glass down,its quiet common for the
weatherstrip to "follow and fold in" with the glass going down.
After time this snaps or cracks the weatherstrip.
Soooo-when you have wound the glass down-stop and slightly
wind the glass back UP a fraction...This will bend the weatherstip
back into the normal UP postion..
Phew-Now go out to the garage and try this......

every window in the mini leakes, except the windscreen

so thats not a good thing when washing the car

That place is Grippy Rubber on Victoria Rd.
They have lots of mouldings but I doubt they have the front quarter window ones.
