yes and for those who don't have 2500 for a new set , and finding a secondhand set is becoming hard as an alternitive i think it is a good idea
the delux and the clubman i have both have 7.5's on them but the 850 will get big brakes
1) 13 inch rims and inertia and the rest of the stuff that go with it
2) cost
3) looks
4)availibility

Yep, and the car went slower as a result.

That's right a "sportspack" Rover Cooper has a 5mph slower top speed than a Cooper with 12 wheels. Same driveline etc, just the extra friction and wind resistance making a difference.

IMHO 13" rims look over-tyred (yawn!) on a Mini, but look just right on a Moke. 8)

I'm currently deciding on 12's or flares.... its the lesser of two evils in my opinion.

12's are currently winning the battle.

....cos there's no such things as speed limits..... bigger wheels = lower engine RPM = less fuel consumption.....

Its not about "how FAST you get there"........ its "how GOOD you look on the way" (which is why im putting either 19's or 20's on the Statesman that'll replace my Mazda  )

Dont get me wrong - i would actually like a mini slammed on 10's, it just means i'll need to buy another mini

i cant see how it would be any slower as the 13/50/165 has a close rolling diamiter to the 10/75/145 from memory

They were dead set slower as Bnicho said- just the wind resistance from the extra tyre width . Bit like putting a bigass bodykit & wing on a stocko Excel...
Hey, my car might be faster with 145x10s than my 165/70s... :P no- I won't go baaaaack to em..

I got hold of a set of calipers today :)

Was gareth1330 going to post an image of the backing plates in a format that you could take to a laser cutting place?

I cant post a file on the forum (at least not that i know of). I have done an autocad file for the backing plate, but ill be making sure it fits before going any further, and i havn't had time to make up an accurate dummy yet.. Incidentally cutting two plates via laser or water cutting is insanely expensive, you need to get like ten plus before pricing becomes half reasonable. Im going to be getting a run cut for 10 inch wheels, and possibly 12 inch aswell as a few people have been asking me about them. Send me a pm if your interested in getting some cut when i do, im sure i could slap them in an express post bag or somesuch.... Originally i was just going to get enough cut for myself and friends but i seem to be getting a few requests, especially from interstate enthusiasts, so i might just get plates cut for whoever wants, might have to do somekind of deposit though, i dont want to be left paying for/being stuck with 10 more plates than i need! I imagine the cutting at least for the ten inch wheels will be done within the next few weeks so let me know via forum pm anyone who has enquiries or orders...

Gareth
