What would you expect to pay for a 1966 mini estate?, the condition is good from far but far from good.
The estate is a 4 seater mini van with sliding rear windows, it has wind up doors no rust, But looks as though the paint was done at the backest of yards.
What are they worth?, IS the estate worth more than a 850 Pvan.

the only thing that would concern me is the problems lying underneath the dodgy paint.....how fresh does the paint look?

Is that the roundnose or the square nose. The travellers, estates, countrymans are rare as and pretty expensive. There are a few people with them on here...

In my advice... buy it...

A quick & nasty paint job usually hides some quick & nasty repair work. That said estates are fairly rare so you'd probably expect to pay at least 4k for a rough one nowdays or if the owner doesn't know its value you could get one for $1k or less.
I'd prefer one in original paint, rust & all, at least then you know what you're getting into and what it's truely worth.

We picked up our 1964 traveller which came with its hand book and service book
$1900.00 from Mebourne + $800.00 to get it back to N S W .

A piece of string is 13-1/2 inches long, that question gets asked a lot too, so just make sure you never ask again.
If you see a post asking the same old question, why bother to reply, just ignore it and move on. As a newcomer, one should really not have to worry about asking the same old questions. Answers are most likely already posted, but communicating with a search engine is not much fun.
People usually ask because thay want an answer, at least you now know the length of a piece of string.

The lenght of a piece of string is twice the distance from the middle to the end.

PS Travellers are rare, so I'd still get it for $2k to $3k. But that's just me.

As with anything, price is pretty subjective and dependant on condition, desire, rarity etc.

However, given that almost all estates/Traveller/Countryman etc will have been private imports there aren't too many around which = Rare.

Unless the body is an absolute basket case it's got to be worth considering. Most panels are available from M-Machine in the UK but will not be cheap.

I paid $2,500 for mine about 4 years ago, it was driveable but tired looking so I restored it - Cha ching! but well worth it now.

PS. Clubmn does it have a smooth roof on the outside or a ripple roof. Smooth roofs are rarer.

Just make sure what you are being offered is a genuine estate (Countryman or Traveller). There were a lot of rear seats fitted to vans over the years. The chassis number on the build plate should confirm the details. Another giveaway is the location of the spare wheel. If it's sunk into the rear load floor under a wooden cover, then it's probably genuine.

Converted vans are fine, just not as valuable as the genuine article.
